About Barrett Enix
Barrett joined Phelan Petty in early 2020 after cutting his teeth as a civil litigation defense attorney representing insurance companies, corporations, small businesses, and individuals in a wide array of legal matters. Barrett’s passion is the courtroom, and he strives to use his talent, experience, and resources to help those who cannot otherwise help themselves. His primary practice areas include personal injury, products liability, and general commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Phelan Petty, Barrett worked in the Litigation Department of McCandlish Holton, P.C., another Richmond-based law firm. He also served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Frederick G. Rockwell, III of the Chesterfield Circuit Court, which instilled in him a high sense of professionalism and respect for the law.
Barrett graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2011 and from University of Richmond School of Law in 2016. While in law school, Barrett served as an Articles Editor on the University of Richmond Law Review, and as President of the Moot Court Board. He is admitted to practice in federal and state courts throughout Virginia.
When not working, Barrett enjoys DIY projects, golf, watching the Baltimore Orioles arguably do their best, and, most of all, spending time with his wife and son.
