Michael Phelan Named to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100

Phelan Petty is pleased to announce that partner Michael Phelan has been selected for inclusion in The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 list of Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers in Virginia. This prestigious, invitation-only organization highlights the work of civil plaintiff and criminal defense attorneys across the country who have achieved outstanding results on behalf of clients, and who have demonstrated excellence in their careers.

Selection to The National Trial Lawyers “is based on a thorough multi-phase objective and uniformly applied process which includes peer nominations combined with third-party research.” In order to be eligible for invitation, an attorney must “demonstrate superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, stature and public profile measured by objective and uniformly applied standards in compliance with state bar and national Rule 4-7.”

About Michael G. Phelan

Partner Michael Phelan handles catastrophic personal injury, truck accidents, product liability, and medical device claims for clients throughout Virginia. He is an award-winning trial attorney whose work has been recognized by Martindale-Hubbell, which awarded him a Preeminent AV rating, as well as Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers, which has named him to the Top 50 Richmond list and Top 100 Virginia list. Mr. Phelan was invited to join the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) in 2019, an invitation-only organization comprised of judges and trial attorneys who “have at least five years of active experience as trial lawyers, have tried at least 10 civil jury trials to conclusion and possess additional litigation experience. Members must also exhibit the virtues of civility, integrity and professionalism by following our Code of Professionalism and Principles of Civility.” In 2020, he was elected to serve on the Executive Committee for the Virginia Chapter of ABOTA.
