Phelan Petty’s Brielle Hunt Selected to 2025 Virginia Lawyers Weekly Influential Women of Law
Phelan Petty Injury Lawyers is proud to announce that partner Brielle Hunt has been named to Virginia Lawyers Weekly Influential Women of Law, Class of 2025.
The award honors women attorneys and judges for their outstanding work within the justice system, dedication to their communities, and service to the legal profession in the commonwealth. The attorneys were honored in a ceremony in Richmond on February 27, 2025.
When asked what advice she would give to women just starting out, Brielle told the publication:

About Brielle Hunt
Brielle joined Phelan Petty Injury Lawyers in 2015 and has been demonstrating exceptional dedication to her clients ever since. She focuses exclusively on complex medical negligence and personal injury litigation. This passion for justice has led to a variety of successes in the courtroom, including securing one of Virginia’s largest verdicts in 2021, which was a $3 million jury verdict in a fetal death case, along with partner Jonathan M. Petty.
In addition to her significant litigation achievements, Brielle is an active leader in the local legal community. She has served on the Board of Governors of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association since 2018 and volunteers with the Virginia State Bar on the Disciplinary Board Third District Sub-Committee, Section II. Her peers have recognized her excellence, recognizing her for her work in the area of Plaintiff’s Medical Malpractice in Virginia Super Lawyers since 2019.
A native of New Jersey, Ms. Hunt earned both her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and her Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond. She resides in Midlothian with her husband, young children, and golden retriever.
